A story of one woman's belief that every daughter deserves the wings to fly.
Having witnessed how women are often forced to depend entirely on others for even their smallest needs, and how families are trapped in cycles of addiction with no access to education, healthcare, or awareness, Usha Tiwari founded Udaan Sewa Sansthan in 2017 — with the belief that every woman should have the wings to fly towards her dreams, and every daughter the chance to build her own identity.
Headquartered in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and registered in 2018, the organisation primarily works in the slum communities of Kanpur city — localities marked by poverty, low literacy, and addiction — with the goal of changing both the condition and the direction of people's lives. Training centres set up in these communities equip women with skills in tailoring, beautician work, and other trades, alongside support for primary education and college students.
Under Usha Tiwari's leadership, Udaan Sewa Sansthan serves everyone equally, regardless of religion or caste, working towards socio-economic justice, education, health, relief & rehabilitation, and environmental protection for the most deprived sections of society across Kanpur Urban, Kanpur Rural, and nearby areas.
